Brian Ashdown, DPM, Podiatrist
Brian Ashdown is originally from Monterey Park, California (a suburb of Los Angeles). He attended Brigham Young University and received a BS degree in Microbiology and a minor in Chemistry in 1992. He then did research at a molecular biology laboratory at the University of Southern California for 1 year before attending Podiatry School. In 1997, he received his Podiatry degree (DPM) with Pi Delta honors from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco. A 2-year surgical residency in the greater Los Angeles Area (Monrovia Community Hospital, Glendale Adventist Medical Center, and North Hollywood Medical Center) added to his training at which time he moved to Albany in 1999 to begin his practice.
Dr. Ashdown is board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the Oregon Podiatric Medical Association. Brian enjoys his work and receives satisfaction helping people resolve foot conditions that decrease the quality of their lives. He also enjoys the opportunity to meet new people.
Brian enjoys spending time with his wife and son. He has been an avid fisherman since he was young and is one of the reasons he moved to the pacific northwest. Flyfishing for trout and coastal and Midvalley salmon and steelhead fishing have been of particular interest. He enjoys woodworking and making furniture. Brian also enjoys running and tries to run a few half marathons each year and has run the Hood to Coast relay.
